Second round is over, and here is my entry:
“Raising Livestock”
These minis are primarily from Bears Head Miniatures, the 2017 kickstarter “March of the Dead”. The leftmost one, however, is a repainted and rebased Mage Knight mini.
I painted the whole lot in a flurry of sudden panic the day before I was to send in the pictures for the first three rounds of the league as I discovered that I was lacking a team. Luckily, zombies are very forgiving when it comes to sloppy painting.
All the bases are bespoke 3D printed.
This is the “Rude Skeleton” who originally was flippin’ the birdie. I bent the arm at the elbow to make it look more like he is whistling to the animals.
Single piece casting in metal, very flat from the side. This one was also funded in the same Kickstarter campaignm but I bought it from their webshop not too long ago.
He should of course have had a pitchfork in stead of a scythe as he is tending animals and not harvesting the fields. Existential questions appear: Do zombies defecate?
25mm base.
This is “Undead Horse 4” which is supposed to be kicking with the back legs in the air. Being in softish metal the front leg snapped while I was trying to drill a hole up the hoof for pinning. I had to fix it by having one of the back hooves pinned to the base as well. You can see the snapped leg not properly aligned in the pictures. The ungulate being undead, I think this actually enhances the piece.
50x25mm base.
This is “Undead Cow” MOOO!
50x25mm base.
This is “Zombie Pig”. Revenge of the son of Bacon.
45x25mm base.
40x25mm base.
On the topic of “undead sheep”:
I heartily recommend the 2006 New Zealand movie Black Sheep. Fun and gore all around.
This is a repainted and rebased Mage Knight Whirlwind mini called “Zombie Hound”. The farmer needed a sheepdog.
35x25mm base.
“You are all DEAD MEAT!”
I would like to get a bunch of these in several variants and make a proper zombie horde, …er herd.
