Oathsworn Heroes: Tardog Wolfskinner, Ogre vagabond

Back in 2013, Oathsworn had a kickstarter for a range of oldhammery heroes, with dwarves, halflings, and a few monsters like the efreet and shambling mound that I have painted earlier.

I am very slowly getting round to them, one at a time:

This is Tardog Wolfskinner, Ogre vagabond from that set.

Full of that oldhammer character and charm.

Now if only I could remenber where I put the rest of those minis…

And now the Cirle warband is complete!

…apart from the grey death Rhinotaur that I did not pledge for. Regrets, regrets.

Striking the classic heroic pose known as “foot on rock”, Brok is the sixth Circle member, with his trusty Sigmarite warhammer held high.

He is the “normal” one, human without visible mutations and a prime physical specimen at that. His mutations are of the kind that are on the inside…

Circle of Chaos: Chirrik, Friki and Diki

From the Circle of Chaos Warband kickstarter, here is numbers 3, 4 and 5.

Chirrik seems to be some sort of mutated Skaven or rat-beastman.

This mini  is truly chaotic and …busy, and was most difficult to read, as it were. With its miniature arms, the eyestalks, tailweapon and flapping cloak-things all over the place. The busy-ness quieted a bit down as I painted it, each bit gaining definition and appearing before my eyes. (And that odd strip of fur turned out to be a pocket-watch!)

The Night Goblin netters and clubbers are a staple of 3rd ed warhammer, and here reimagined for Realm of Chaos oldhammer too. Friki with the net and Diki with the club.

This pair counts as one for Minivember.

Minivember: Oldhammer Skeleton C17 “Cript Fighter “

Up next is a mini I recently acquired through a trade, together with the Ghoul Goon Squad:

161108-citadel-oldhammer-1987-c17-cript-fighter-skeleton

I was not sure which model this was, apart from it being quite older than the Ghouls. A bit of google-fu showed it to be from the Citadel 1987 “C17 Skeleton Warriors” line. And the name is “Cript Fighter”. Yes. it is written with an “i” in “Crypt”.

It certainly has that oldhammer character and simplicity.

Oldhammer: Pink and Blue Horrors of Tzeentch

I have been going through some of my boxes of older minis to find some I can sell to fund my massive overspending on minis and kickstarters. And I came across these excellent old blighters. Not selling those. Oh no.

How can you not love that adorable face?

160714 oldhammer blue horror 3

160714 oldhammer blue horror 1

With these I continued experimenting with my old inks over a zenithal primer. Each was given a wash in a different old blueish ink (the pink one was red ink), and when dry I messed a bit around with different colours/effects on each of them, knocking back the shininess by finishing with a drybrush with very light blue-white (pink white).  Nothing too amibtious. They ended up quite similar.

Anyhow, I think they turned out well.

Oldhammer Mummy

And now for something not entirely completely different:

160508 Oldhammer Mummy

I really need to look into better lighting, even a light box for pictures. This one had all the contrasts flashed away. It looks much better IRL, Trust me on this.

I made a few trades earlier in the year, this mini came from one of those.

I think I will be using it for my up and coming Frostgrave necromancer warband’s zombie.
