The Reaper Challenge League has indeed taken alot of my painting time this year. Now that it is done, I am getting back into painting other stuff, like the Warhammer Underworlds warbands. I see that I have somehow managed to skip two full seasons and the start of a third. At least I have all the minis. I will try to get painting some more of them in the next year, and maybe focus slightly less on the RCL.

This one was missing the whole of his upper right arm (!) Simply gone, leaving a stump and a massive gap on the model.
I made a new arm with some plastic putty. Not pretty but it works.



I am not entirely sure what I think of these new Kruleboyz, looking at the Dominion Kruleboyz line as a whole. They strike me as being more Lord of the Rings-like in size and shape, albeit with ridiculous armour, especially the bird-cage one that facially looks a lot like Azog from the Hobbit movies. They are a far cry from the Warhammer Orcs, even though they are trying to give nostalgia a nod with design elements from late 80s/early 90s metal pre-Kev Adams Warhammer Orcs. However, one thing that is missing from these new ones is the hint at evil levity, such as the wicked grin or humorous expression on the models. These all seem so very serious. So, I am undecided. I mean, I really like the old school feel, but something feels a bit off. Perhaps that is it?

So, may auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?
