Just a few odds and ends I have been puttering away at over the course of the last couple of weeks. Also this bust.

I do not play World of Warcraft and had no idea that this is a character from there as it was part of a bulk bust set when I bought the stl.
That said, it is a lovely demon design. Approximately 7cms tall to the tips of the horns.

07034 Grave Wraith
Reaper Dungeon Dwellers line
Sculpted by Bob Ridolfi
Bones USA / SioCast material
32mm base
This year, Reaper began re-releasing both older metal and bones models in their Bones USA material, which actually is the SioCast proprietary thermoplastic. They cast metal and Bones USA models at their plant in Texas, while the Bones Classic and Bones Black models are mass-produced in China.
The upheavals in global trade and shipping of last few years should adequately explain why they have chosen to move to locally cast plastic for their regular releases, although they still use China for their Bones kickstarters.
This is one of said re-releases. They are really getting their money’s worth out of many older sculpts. It was originally made in metal, then produced in translucent green Bones during the first kickstarter, and now in grey Bones USA. This version of the model comes with three small gravestones that I did not include as I did not want to make a larger base. They headstones are now buried in the bits box.

07033 Crypt Guardian Skeleton
Reaper Dungeon Dwellers line
Sculpted by Paul Muller
Bones USA / SioCast material
32mm base
This is another of the old models being re-released into Bones USA. I don’t think this one was ever released in Bones though. Only metal.
It bears several hallmarks of older sculpts, such as having slightly rougher details than most modern sculpts and being a tad smaller in stature, and also that is has the typical stance of a single-piece metal casting with little undercuts and stuff filling the in-between bits. I think it has a strong old-school 80s Citadel Warhammer vibe.

44097 Chaos Toad Brawler
Reaper Bones 4 Darkreach expansion
Sculpted by Andrew Pieper
Bones Black hard PVC
75mm base
Reaper’s versions of the D&D “Slaad” chaotic evil giant demon toadmen are called “Chaos Toads”. Very inventive name there. (But the point would be for any D&D player to know what they are on sight, so there you are).
This one has been taken out of and put back into it’s box-tray on several occations, and I never could seem to decide how to paint it.
Enough is enough. I just slapped some browns, yellows and reds on and did some sloppy brushwork to get it done. I have come to detest painting masses of horn or spikes, so they were especially quick, which is plain to see. Nothing to be proud of, but nothing to be particularly ashamed of either.

I painted him as Freddy Krueger, red/black stripes, metal claws and all.

Lead Rot Pile Refugees of the week:

7001 Werewolves
From their Fantasy Armies Lesser Monsters line
Harlequin Miniatures, mid-to-late 1990s
Unknown sculptor
Lead metal, 30mm bases
These are originals from back in the day that never got painted and almost were thrown out with lead rot. I managed to scrub the patches of gunk off and clean them up so they were presentable again.
Not that the rather rough sculpts ever were all that good. However, they were the much cheaper alternative to Citadel at the time.
