Star Saga: The Plague Victims

Oh, I could not stay away from those sweet, sweet, Mantic miniatures for long!

After all, it has only been just over a year since I received the Star Saga kickstarter first wave shipment…and the second wave arrived recently. Time to get started on these as well.

And since Nurgle has been prominent of lately, I start with the Plague Victim minis.

In game, the heroes are infiltrating a space station owned by the Mazon Corp. This corporation turns out to be evil (quelle surprise!) and are busy weaponizing the Plague (quelle surprise!) in the laboratories of said space station.

And their experiments are set loose upon the heroes when they get too close…

Simple paintjobs for simple minis. Black undercoat, three different skintones, same shading with Citadel Druuchi Violet and Citadel Carroburg Crimson, the hospital trousers are Scalecolour Caribbean Blue with Citadel Athonian (greenish brown) Camoshade and thinned Caribbean Blue for highlights.

I tried for a Mean Machine -style ragedial-thing in the foreheads of the helmeted ones, but it did not seem to work all that well. Just ended up looking like some dots or something.

At least the Star Saga has begun!

  1. Nice work. The uniform colours and the unarmed, muscular poses make them look a little like a Blood Bowl Team!
