So I have not painted anything since early June due to tendonitis in both arms. Now, at last, my arms are better, and I can get back to some painting. However, my IRL circumstances have recently changed and this will cut seriously back on my free time the rest of this and the first half of next year (not that I had all that much beforehand…).
Nethertheless, I will try to get in at least half an hour daily as I need the recreation.
So, to ease into painting again I have done the two remaining explorers from the NSA4001 – Hunters and Explorers pack.
(descriptions below pictures from the North Star figures webshop )
The Hunter, a little known and much feared character, described by the Nairobi Worthies as ‘a right nasty piece of work’. Dedicated to the hunt, his reputation for killing everything he set his sights on was famous, though perhaps the time he ‘allegedly’ turned a maxim gun on a herd of 100 Elephants ranks as his most infamous moment.
H.J.Stanleigh, a violent and brash American, followed the trail of Reggie Bunter into the Congo. He never found a trace of Bunter, but answered the tribal warcries of ‘Niam, Niam’ with pounds of hot lead, blasted into the jungle until there was silence, smoke and shattered greenery all around him.
Minis in metal by North Star Military Figures. I based them on 3D printed 25mm round lipped bases.
The Tally so far:
Finished from the Bobby Box: 99 / 126 (+10 / 13 casualties, small animals etc)
Just 27 left to do! (plus some small bits like casualties and the half skeleton . I think I might have counted those wrong, as I seem to have 4 of those left, not three)
Finished from the stash: 119
Finished minis in total this year: 218 / 365 (target one for each day on average)
…I seem to have fallen slightly behind…
