The minipainting discord paintalongs are good sources of reasons to paint specific models.

For example, this one is for the Hivemindalong (i.e. “paint a Tyranid model”)

An old-school plastic Tyranid Warrior from the game Advanced Space Crusade, but with a modern 40mm round base instead of the original 25mm square. Also, painted in a modern style.

Released by Games Workshop in 1990. This was a game I played quite a lot back in the day, exploring the intestines and guts of Tyranid hive ships with the early versions of Space Marine Scouts. I had a single tyranid warrior left to paint for some reason. So, here it is.
