High Noon of the Dead

I must say that I enjoy painting the Shadows of Brimstone miniatures, even though many have soft details.

Here are the remainder of the Hungry Dead, the last 7 of the 12 in the game.

Hatless Cowboys, bearded prospectors and saloon ladies in their best dresses have all succumbed and become the Hungry Dead. (Which is such an evocative name, especially as other such adjectives such as “Living” “Evil” and “Walking” are taken.) You know that you don’t want them to get close to you.

Some lead miniatures from the 80s, Citadel Zombies.

A bit worse for wear, one of them is missing an arm. Luckily no sign of any lead rot or such. They were takes out of their pack ages ago, which probably saved them.

But since these are zombies of the not-entirely-fresh variety, I don’t see the missing arm as much of a problem. One of the others have probably had it for lunch.

Why is that pile of bones moving about?

I have not had the time to paint or hobby these last few weeks, because I am about to move house. This involves a fair deal of painting and remodelling work in the old one to make it ready for sale.

But today I managed to grab a couple of hours.

Semi-random mini of the month, part 1:

from the second Reaper Bones kickstarter, they made a small selection of minis with the title Savage Worlds:

151008 savage worlds 91007 bone fiend

Chosen for simplicity, but more so because it happened to be one of the front minis on the undercoated-and-ready-shelf. This figure seems to be comprised of many different skeletons and parts, from several species. There is at least one dog in there as well.

I don’t know what this “Savage Worlds” setting is, but I expect it to be something pulpy set in the american west or similar. The other minis are texas rangers in stetsons, an undead gunslinger, some steampunky mechanic type , a giant prairie tick and this ambulatory pile of bones.
